Gwinnett Environmental CenterThe 59,000 square-foot science and cultural center located on 233 acres near
the Mall of Georgia, is surrounded by an area that is rich in both natural and
cultural history. The center’s more than 233 acres of land will also be used for
additional hands-on science education programs, cultural and history education
programs, as well as numerous passive recreation opportunities such as bike
riding and hiking. ProLandscapes' scope of work included the installation of the largest green roof in the south - and the largest sloped green roof in the country. The reforestation design required the design, layout and installation of hundreds of trees along with irrigation. Complementing the environmental park design was approximately five miles of asphalt and mulch trails. ProLandscapes managed the installation and construction of a water feature which serves as the re-circulating cooling system for the building.
